Ten scholarships totalling over $6,000 have been awarded to outstanding graduate students in fields of social work by the National Council of Jewish Women, it was announced today by the organization. The awards are made annually from the Hannah G. Solomon scholarship fund, which was established in 1929 in honor of the founder of the Council.
Tamar Baranovsky, 26, of Haifa, a native-born Israeli, arrived here for a year’s advanced study in social service and educational techniques. She is the hundredth Israeli student brought to this country under the scholarship program of the National Council of Jewish Women which, thus far, has spent $400,000 on this program.
