The European Economic Community’s Council of Ministers voted at its session here last night to continue to analyze Israel’s request for a link with the European Market, and to make sure that the item is placed on the agenda of the next session, scheduled to be held in late September.
The decision was taken after Jean Rey, a leader of Euromart, and a member of the EEC Commission on Foreign Relations, drew up a comprehensive statement on the negotiations held thus far between Israel and the EEC.
The Council decided that both the Commission and the permanent representatives to the EEC from the six member nations, should continue their analyses of Israel’s request. The six are France, West Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
