The board of directors of the National Council of Jewish Women by an overwhelming vote yesterday rejected the proposal that the Council participate in the proposed Jewish congress.
At the same time the Council declined an invitation by Bernard S. Deutsch to appoint representatives to a National Board of Elections which is to conduct the election of delegates to a session of the American Jewish Congress to be held in April, 1935.
Announcement of the position taken by the National Council of Jewish Women was made by Mrs. Arthur Brin, president, from national headquarters at 625 Madison avenue. The Council represents 40,000 women throughout the country and has sections in 200 cities.
