Mrs. H. George Sickles, prominent Jewish society woman, has been named county chairman for Hamilton County of the National Recovery Act Women’s Division. Mrs. Sickles is the second prominent Jewish woman to be given a high position in the NRA here, Mrs. Saul Zielonka being a lieutenant colonel in the Cincinnati drive.
ZEITZ FEDERATION BALL CHAIRMAN
Harry Zeitz, Brooklyn communal leader and philanthropist, has accepted the chairmanship of the annual dinner and ball of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities, Justice Mitchell May, president of the federation, announced yesterday.
The affair will be held Sunday evening, Nov. 9, at the St. George Hotel, Brooklyn. It is the ninth such affair to be held by the federation.
GOV. LEHMAN TO ATTEND PAGEANT
Governor Herbert H. Lehman, honorary chairman of the committee sponsoring the undertaking, will attend the opening performance of the Jewish pageant, “The Romance of a People”, at the Polo Grounds on September 14, it was announced yesterday by Meyer W. Weisgal, executive director of the pageant. A previous engagement made by the Governor was cancelled because of his deep interest in the pageant.
