The “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” are clearly a forgery and belong to the category of “scandalous literature of the worst species,” the court’s non-Jewish expert, Dr. C. A. Loosli, declared today in his analysis of the anti-Semitic document for spreading which a number of Swiss Nazis are now on trial here.

Dr. Loosli’s testimony was a complete refutation of the testimony of the Nazi “expert,” Col. Ulrich Fleischauer, who for six days tried to prove that the “protocols” are genuine.

CALLS BOOK A ‘DRUG’

“The ‘Protocols’ are calculated to incite readers to brutality, to swerve them from morality and right, to drug their modesty and conscience to the point of inciting them to illegal acts,” Dr. Loosli summarized his expert analysis for the court.

WRITTEN BY CZAR’S AGENT

The court’s expert, a noted author, declared that the “Protocols” are the creation of the Russian Secret Service under the Czarist regime. The Czarist government in Russia had good reasons for fabricating these “Protocols” in order to justify its actions against the Jews, he said.

Dr. Loosli ridiculed the Nazi allegations that the “Protocols” are a record of the first Zionist Congress held in Basle in 1897. He declared that this forged document, which aims to prove that the Jews wish to dominate the world, was based on an essay written as far back as 1864 by Maurice Joly, a Frenchman, under the title “A Dialogue in Hades Between Machiavelli and Montesquieu,” which is a satire on Napoleon III.
