The case of Eugene McNamara, president of the Brotherhood of Painters, Paperhangers and Decorators, District Council No. 9, was dismissed by Judge Jonah J. Goldstein in Yorkville Court yesterday. McNamara was charged with felonious assualt as a result of a brawl with members of Local 499, now banned for alleged Communist activities.
Union spokesmen declared yesterday that the Socialist League had issued a proclamation to its members in the union urging them to support the leadership of the strike.
