Surprise that men in government service should give false evidence was expressed by the Court here today in the case of the four Arabs charged with the murder of 24 Jews in the house of Rabbi Jacob Slonim of Hebron last August. The statement was made after witnesses for the defense, the Mayor of Hebron and other Arab notables, testified they were with the first defendant in the city hall at the time of the attack.
A policeman and the clerk of the Moslem Supreme Council offered an alibi for the second defendant and the court found contradictions in this evidence.
