Life for crippled children in Israel has greatly improved since the opening of a new Orthopedic Department in the Alyn Hospital for Crippled Children recently established here. Alyn cares for all the crippled children of Jerusalem. At present there are 87 patients, of whom 10 are Arab. Alyn provides long-term care, and acute patients requiring surgical operations are attended to at Hadassah. Where long periods of post-operative hospitalization are needed, the little patients are transferred to Alyn, thus freeing the Hadassah beds for urgent cases.
