Executive, who was defeated at the elections.
In its comparison of the achievements of the Jews and Arabs during the last 12 years “El Carmel” says that “the Arab Executive met seven times, sent delegations to London, Hedjaz and Iraq, broadcast thousands of protests, arranged hundreds of celebrations and meetings of the Moslem Supreme Council, repaired the Aksa Mosque, purchased 3,000 dunams of land and constructed a large hotel which was turned over to a Jew in order to compete with the small Arab hotels.”
The Zionists, on the other hand, says “El Carmel,” brought in “80,000 immigrants, compelling the Arabs to make room for them, acquired 1,100,000 dunams of the best land, established factories whose products we and our brother Arabs in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Transjordania purchase, thereby regaining by manyfold the price they paid for Arab lands, conquered trade and built dozens of colonies.”
