The Palestine government is sharply criticized today by the Arab daily paper, “Falastin,” for awarding the contract for the construction of the railway shops at Haifa to the Jewish construction company from Jerusalem, Guth & Gurewith. The Arab paper says that the bid of $290,000 made by Guth & Gurewith was higher than that of an Arab contractor, but that the government favored the Jews “who lost out on another contract.” The paper also claims that the government wants to have Jews employed on the construction of the railway shops.
