Three men, about to be deported for having entered Palestine illegally, were kidnapped out of the hands of the police by a large crowd here yesterday and spirited away to a hiding place.
The three men, Nuri Joshua and his son, of Bukhara, Turkestan, and Rachami Moshe, of Afghanistan, were to have been deported to the latter country with the wife and daughter of Joshua. They had been arrested yesterday together with Yechya Ben-Shabon, also of Afghanistan, and the latter’s wife and two children. The three men and the rest of the Joshua family were in a police automobile here when the crowd of unknown sympathizers converged on it, routed the police guard and the driver, and took the three men and their baggage away, leaving the women.
A relation of one of the escaped men was taken into custody last night by the police for interrogation, while a diligent search was begun to discover the hideout of the fugitives.
