Cuban Foreign Minister Dr. Carlos Hevia was the guest of honor at a banquet arranged by the Cuban Zionist Federation at which expressions of thanks by Zionist leaders were addressed to the Cuban Government for recognizing the state of Israel.
During the course of his address, Dr. Hevia declared: “It would be contrary to cur history to support any anti-Semitic theories. Cuba does not approve any race theories or discrimination.” Among the guests who attended the banquet were top Cuban Foreign Ministry officials as well as leaders of the Jewish community in this country.
