The cultural honor prize of the City of Munich was awarded here to Prof. Martin Buber in a festive ceremony at the Academy of Arts.
Mayor Hans Vogel cited the personal and philosophical achievements of the Israeli scholar. Other speakers recalled the great contributions of Jewish citizens to Munich’s cultural life before the Nazi rise to power and expressed the hope that a cultural interchange between Munich and Israel would soon become a reality.
