Official denial that legislation already has been secretly enacted restricting the immigration of Jewish physicians and lawyers into Palestine was issued in the House of Commons today by Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister, Secretary of State for Colonies.
The denial came in answer to a question put to him by Col Josiah Wedgwood as to whether similar limitations exist in other British dependencies or dominions Cunliffe-Lister’s reply was in the negative.
Proposals for curtailing entry of Jewish members of the legal and medical professions are still being discussed in correspondence between Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope.
