Forty-eight-hour curfew was imposed today on the Musramah quarter of Jerusalem and adjacent streets after a Jew was shot and slightly wounded by an Arab near police headquarters. Emergency regulations were amended to permit sentencing of males under 18 years of age to whipping with a light rod, not exceeding 24 strokes. The Hebrew daily, Haaretz, was suspended for a week by Government order, reportedly because of an article on the London conferences.
