Two Constellation transport planes were seized are today by U.S. customs officials because it was believed that they were en route to Israel.
The Presidential arms embargo of March 27 against the export of fighting equipment to Palestine was invoked to seize them at the Millville airport. Neither the pilots nor crews of the planes wore held. The planes are owned by the Service Airways Company of New York City.
(In Washington a State Department spokesman said the Department had issued blanket orders to U.S, customs officials some time ago to seize all aircraft leaving, the country if there was any evidence that the planes were attempting to leave without a legal exit permit.)
