The $700,000 deficit of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies has been decreased by $325,000, it was announced at a dinner of the Business Men’s Council of the Federation held at the Pennsylvania Hotel last night.
Among the speakers, praising the work of the 91 institutions affiliated with the organization were Justice Lehman, Percy S. Straus, Adolph S. Ochs and Jonah J. Goldstein. The guests numbering about 300 were filmed as they entered the dining room and their pictures were shown on the screen at the close of the dinner.
