A quarter of a million kronen were appropriated today by the municipality of Brunn, Czecho-Slovakia’s second largest city, as the coming year’s subsidy to the Jewish schools of the city. This grant needs no approval from higher government institutions. Yesterday the city of Uzhorod, capital of the province of Carpatho-Russia, assigned 20,000 kronen for Jewish schools and the town of Marish-Ostrau gave 15,000 kronen for manual training in the Yiddish schools.
