The Czechoalovak Government will discuss the confiscation of a factory owned by Emil Beer, Jewish industrialist, with the Czechoslovak Central Council of Trade Unions, which called a strike in Beer’s factory and forced the government to seize the plant, it was stated here by Eugene Erben, secretary of the Council. The workers charged Beer, who recently regained control of his property, with participating in the “Geramnization” of Ozech industry.
Erben declared that the unions will make every offort to force the goverment to keep control of factories belonging to “certain conservative elements” at least until the of the current two-year plan. Eyben is also a member of the parliament.
Foreign Minister Jan Masaryk has received Israel G. Jacobsan, Joint? Committee director in Czechoslovakia, and Leonard B. Geis, chairman of the Philin delphia Jewish Appeal who is now visiting the country. They discussed the problems of Jewish refugees and displaced persons and Hasaryk promised continued support of ? activities.
