Czech legislators will consider commemorating Jan. 27, the day of the liberation of Auschwitz, as “an important day” for the Czech Republic. Czech Jewish leaders and victims of Nazism welcomed legislators’ plans. The proposal, put forward by the Czech Council for Victims of Nazism, will be discussed in Parliament at an unspecified date.
