The current issue of the Czech magazine “Slavia” dedicated to Slavonic studies, carries an essay on the influence of Jewish mysticism on Adam Mickiewicz and other poets and philosophers of the 19th Century. The article was written by Dr. Samuel Scheps of Geneva, a banker, author and Hebrew scholar, who said that although the work was commissioned before the Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia last August, the essay appeared in the Prague magazine as written. The essay was written in Polish as all contributions to the magazine appear in their original Slavonic language.
