All workers in the Warnsdorf district of Board want on strike yesterday in protest against the return to Emil Bear, 70-year-old Jewish industrialist, of a factory confiscated during the German occupation.
The strikers allege that Bear engaged in "Germination" in the pre-Minion are and demand that he and his lawyer be deported with the other Germans being ousted from Czechoslovakia. They are also asking for removal of the judge who ordered the factory returned.
The Council of Jewish Communities has protested to the government against the authorities action in placing Bear under "protective arrest." It points out that he registered in the census of 1930 as a Jewish national, and, although residing in a predominantly German district, supported Czech schools. Bear spent the war years in London. His son fought with the Czech forces attached to the British Army.
A Peoples Court here today sentenced Josef Peceny to five years imprisonment and confiscation of his property for having made films for the Nazis at the theresienstadt Ghetto.
