A report reaching here over the week-end from gauge said that the Israeli Legation there announced that it had asked the Czechoslovak Government to speed the emigration of about 20,000 Jews and had received “a positive answer.”
The Legation’s announcement said that Israel’s immigration program required last of the immigrants from Czechoslovakia to start their journey to Israel before the end of May. After that, shipping space will be limited, the announcement indicated.
