The Czechoslovakian Parliament has adopted unanimously an amendment which exempts war crimes from the statute of limitations, it was reported here today from Prague. Under the amendment, war criminals can be tried after next May 8, the end of the period of 20 years since the official close of World War II.
It was reported at the same time that 33, 000 war criminals have been tried in Czechoslovakia. The report said that 819 received death sentences on conviction. It was also pointed out that a number of war criminals who committed their crimes on Czech territory have not been apprehended.
