The liberation of Zionists still in prisons in Czechoslovakia, Rumania and Hungary on “utterly unjustified” charges was demanded here today by Dr. Noah Barou, World Jewish Congress leader, addressing a regional meeting of the British Section of the World Jewish Congress.
Dr. Barou, discussing various issues facing world Jewry, stressed that Jews everywhere were in a minority and thus dependent for protection on international laws and instruments. He reviewed WJC progress in many fields, including genocide, but expressed concern over such developments as the American refusal to go along with an attempt to write and implement an international covenant on human rights.
