An appeal to the Minister of Interior to exempt German – Jewish refugees from strict application of the alien laws and to permit them to extend their stay in Czechoslovakia was made in the Czechoslovakian parliament yesterday by Dr. Angelo Goldstein, Jewish member.
Dr. Goldstein pointed out that when Jewish refugees are compelled to return to Germany they are arrested there and sent to concentration camps. He expressed the hope that the Czechoslovakian government would, therefore, consider the plight which the refugees may face if not permitted to remain longer in this country.
Dr. Goldstein’s appeal was strongly supported by the Social Democratic members of the parliament.
