More than 9,114,000 pounds of canned foods, clothing and other relief supplies were donated to the SOS (Supplies for Overseas Survivors) Collection of the Joint Distribution Committee during 1947, it was announced ##re today.
These relief-in-kind contributions, which came from more than 800 cities throughout the United States, supplemented supplies purchased and shipped to needy Jews in 16 European countries by the JDC overseas relief program.
