The campaign urging that Great Britain abandon its mandates over Palestine and Mesopotamia, conducted several years ago, was renewed yesterday by the London “Daily Express.”
The newspaper resumed its campaign against what it terms “waste of British millions in the Near East.” The “Express” complains that Great Britain is still spending British taxpayers’ money on Palestine “all because Balfour tried to develop his quaint idea of a Jewish national home.
“The trade of Palestine has not brought England a rich reward. The government must end the anhappy affair of Palestine and Mesopotamia,” the paper urges.
