The New York Daily News today editorially urged passage of the Wagner Rogers refugee children’s bill, declaring that “it is a job making proposal rather than a job taking one.” The paper said “We must make ourselves look the least bit ridiculous, if nothing worse, when we get squeamish about letting in a handful of helpless, innocent child victims of the kind of Old World tyranny that a lot of our ancestors came over here to escape.”
