A survey by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency bureau here established today that Jews in this country suffered damages exceeding $300,000 as a result of the earthquakes which brought death and destruction to many parts of Ecuador.
The two hardest hit Jewish communities were those in the towns of Ambato and Banos. Jews in Ambato, who number about 150, are not expected to be able to resume earning a livelihood for at least a half-year.
