Damascus is completely surrounded by the rebel forces, according to a despatch to the “Sunday Express” from its special correspondent in Damascus. The quarter, El Meidan, is in the hands of the rebels.
The correspondent of the “Sunday Express” confirms the recent report of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that while attending a funeral in Damascus, eight Jewish citizens were kidnapped by the rebels. Three of them were released immediately. The other five were released only after a ransom was paid by their families.
