Counsel for Constantin Danila today lodged an appeal against the fine levied on him by the Satu-Mare court for his part in the Borscha anti-Semitic disturbances last summer. Simultaneously the public prosecutor has appealed against the smallness of the fine but he has taken no action against the acquittal of the other ringleaders, the priests, Fathers Berindei and Dumitrescu.
If Danila refuses to pay the fine, as he is reported to have threatened to do, he faces a three months prison sentence.
