Catholic and Socialist members of the Danzig Parliament today expressed their protest against the anti-Jewish activities conducted by the Nazi-controlled administration of the Free City.
The protest was voiced at an exciting session of the Parliament which was convoked for the purpose of finding measures to save the city from economic ruin.
“The Jews are among Danzig’s best patronizers,” the Catholic and Socialist speakers pointed out, in criticizing the present administration for its anti-Jewish legislation and for tolerating anti-Semitic Nazi propaganda.
The speakers complained that anti-Jewish action in Danzig has recently assumed unheard of proportions. The word “Jew” is being smeared with white indelible paint on windows and doors of Jewish firms. Boycott propaganda against Jewish stores is conducted by Nazi pickets as though Danzig were a part of Nazi Germany.
