Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution walked out of a DAR convention when a speaker made anti-Jewish remarks, it was learned here today.

The speaker was identified as Rear Admiral John G. Crommelin. He was quoted as attributing to George Washington a statement that ” the Jews work more effectively against us than does the enemy. ” Those who objected to his remarks were members of the Pensacola, Florida, chapter of the organization.

Commenting on such incidents, DAR President General Mrs. Frederic A. Groves warned DAR members to “be careful” about the things they say. “We never indulge in persecution of minorities, ” Mrs. Groves said.
