David Pinski, noted Jewish playwright and one of the leaders of the Labor Zionist movement in the United States, was honored last night at the Henry Hudson Hotel on the occasion of his departure for Israel where he will take up permanent settlement.
The function was arranged jointly by the Jewish Writers Association and the Jewish Pen Club. More than 100 writers, journalists and political leaders attended the testimonial. Responding to tributes paid him by numerous speakers, Pinski said that by settling in Israel he not only is realizing his life-long dream, but he will also be fortunate enough to be an on-the-scene participant in the development of the Jewish state.
