David Rose, New York communal leader, was today reelected to serve for a third term as president of the American Technion Society, which supports the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, located in Haifa, Israel.
The American Technion Society is a nationwide group composed of nearly 15.000 engineers, scientists, technologists and industrialists who provide financial, technical and consultative assistance to Israel’s only technological university. Some of the outstanding scientists in the United States are sponsors of the Society.
The establishment by the Philipp Brothers Foundation of a $100, 000 chair in Mining and Metallurgy at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, as a memorial to Arturo Gruenbaum, was announced today. The late Mr. Gruenbaum was a partner of Philipp Brothers for many years. The $100,000 gift was turned over to the American Technion Society.
