Former Israeli Premier David Ben-Gurion is apparently not going to have the meeting he requested with his old ally, former President Charles de Gaulle. Authoritative sources said Gen. de Gaulle sent Mr. Ben-Gurion a friendly letter, in reply to one from the Israeli, saying the meeting would not be possible.
In replying to Mr. Ben-Gurion, who is due here on Friday, the General said he was observing a self-imposed rule not to receive political visitors. Except for a brief trip to Ireland last summer. Gen. de Gaulle has hardly left his country home at Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises since he resigned last April 28.

Mr. Ben-Gurion will address two meetings on Sunday, one for Jewish youth and a mass rally to conclude this week’s “Special Week Appeal” organized by the United Jewish Appeal of France. The UJA’s goal here exceeds the $5 million it raised in 1968.
