The views of American Zionists with regard to the ultimate objective in the Jewish National Home in Palestine have been strengthened and not weakened by the events of the past year, according to a report made by Jacob de Haas, chairman for organization of the Zionist Organization, at the close of a tour of a number of important Jewish centers in behalf of Zionist membership and similar organization activities. Mr. de Haas added that the report of the Mandates Commission and the approval of that report by the Council of the League of Nations have done much to solidify Zionist sentiment in the United States.
During his tour Mr. de Haas visited Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis and Boston. In the first city, as the result of a reorganization conference Judge Harry M. Fischer was elected president of the Chicago district. St. Louis and Indianapolis, following up meetings of the local leaders with Mr. de Haas, have launched membership campaigns on a large scale. Boston, focal point of the New England Region, is now engaged in co-opting additional forces for the conduct of Zionist affairs in the city and region..
Commenting on the genuine efforts being made to increase the enrollment of the Zionist Organization, Mr. de Haas expressed the hope that the membership throughout the country would be doubled by the end of December, 1930.
