One of the Dead Sea Scrolls was sent to Paris to be shown at the Archives and Books Exhibition arranged jointly by the French National Library and the Paris University. This was the first time one of the Scrolls left Israel for exhibit abroad.
French police have taken extraordinary security measures for the 2,000-year-old manuscript. Uniformed police and plainclothes detectives accompanied the manuscript from Orly Airport to the National Archives Building where the exhibit is being held.
