The death has taken place here of Mrs. Mond, wife of the great chemist, Dr. Ludwig Mond, F.R.S., and mother of Sir Alfred Mond, M.P., and Mr. Robert Ludwig Mond, F.R.S., the eminent scientist.
By Mrs. Mond s death the bequest of her husband, who died in 1909, of a most important collection of old masters for the National Galery comes into effect. The collection is to be kept together in one or more rooms of the National Gallery under the name of the “Mond Collection”.
