Abram Kleiner and Samuel Taitz were sentenced to death today on the charge of speculating in Soviet currency. The trial lasted several days. A number of others, including employees in the Latvian Consulate received jail terms as organizers of a band for smuggling Soviet valuables abroad and bringing money illegally into the country, affecting the value of the rouble.
