Decision of UN Social Council to Study Charges of Anti-semitism in Moslem Land Lauded

Lauding the decision of the U.N. Economic and social Council instructing its Non-Governmental Organization Committee to prepare commendations on World Jewish Congress memoranda charging that Jews in Moslem countries are victims of oppression, Dr. Leon Kubowitzki, W.J.C, secretary-general, said today “the Council’s decision offers some hope for the amelioration of the situation if the Jews in Moslem lands.

“The Arab states will understand that their treatment of their Jewish citizens will be under constant scrutiny,” Dr. Kubowitzki asserted. The Congress memoranda pointed out that many Moslem, countries were withdrawing economic and social rights from their Jewish citizens, while in recent attach in these countries scores of Jews ?ost their lives, hundreds were injured and many homes and institutions were looted.
