The Hillel Foundation at the University of Alabama was dedicated here today with ceremonies at Temple Emanuel, followed by a reception at the foundation and an inspection of the campus.
The main address was delivered by Alfred M. Cohen, president of B’nai B’rith, which sponsors the Hillel movement. President George Denny accepted the foundation on behalf of the university.
Dr. Morris Newfield of Birmingham, spoke on “What Hillel brings to the Jewish communities of Alabama.”
