Exercises dedicating the Einstein Institute of Physics at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem yesterday were marked by a gift of $1,000 for a new laboratory, it was made known here by the American Friends of the Hebrew University.
Mrs. Helena Davis of London is the donor. The laboratory will be added to the left wing of the building. Mrs. Dora Monness Shapiro whose name, as well as her late husband’s, the building bears, was present at the ceremony.
OFFICIALS ATTEND
Research in the new institute will concern itself principally with spectography, under the direction of Dr. S. Sambursky. The Physics Institute will include a laboratory for testing materials, the first of its kind in the Near East.
