Representatives of the Israel Government, the Israel Army and veterans of the Jewish Legion — the American and British Jewish volunteers who fought under Lord Allenby in the liberation of Palestine from the Turks in World War I — attended ceremonies today dedicating Beth Hagdudim — the House of the Legion — as a tribute to Jewish heroism and Israel’s fighting forces.
The building, construction of which was conceived and carried out by American legionnaires led by Samuel Dror, stands on a hill near Nathanya, overlooking a settlement of veterans of World War II.
