Dedication Week is now being observed by the Y. M. H. A. and the Y. W. H. A. of this city in the celebration of the acquisition of the new home. Judge Jacob Asher of Worcester. Mass. and Judge Solomon Elsner were the honorary speakers at the reception held Saturday night.
A public mass meeting was held Sunday at which the speakers were Lieutenant Governor J. Edward Bratnard. Mayor Norman C. Stevens of Hartford, George A. Goodman of Boston. vice-president of the Associated “Y” of New England.
The High Holiday services of the Beacon Street Temple. Brookline, Mass will be held at the Boston Symphony Hall pending commpletion of the new Temple which will have a seating capacity of 2,000. The Symphony Hall has over 2,500 seats.
The new temple which is being exected adjucent to the Temple Center, will be ready in August, 1928. When completed. both buildings will represent an expenditure of close to a million dollars. The new Temple is to be of Byzantine type. Rabbi Samuel J. Abrams is rabbi of the congregation.
