Strong condemnation of bans on composers for racial and political reasons in totalitarian states was voiced today by deems Taylor, the composer and commentator on music, speaking over the Columbia broadcasting system during the intermission of the opening concert of the New York Philharmonic-symphony orchestra. He devoted the greater part of his 15-minute talk to ridiculing racial discrimination in music, referring particularly to the German Government’s ban on the playing of Jewish composers’ works.
