Political adherents of Ragheb Bey Nashashibi, defeated mayor of Jerusalem, today filed complaints contesting the legality of the municipal election, in which Ragheb Bey and two followers were defeated.
The complaints charge illegalities in Ward 1, where Dr. Hussein Khaldi defeated Ragheb Bey in the councillorship; in Ward 2, where Saad el-Din Khalili was elected, and in Ward 3, where Ibrahim Darwish was victor.
Abcarious Bey, M. Eliash and S. Horowitz will appear as attorneys for the complainants. The latter two are Jews.
The newly elected Moslem councillors are regarded as opponents of the Nashashibis.
