Delegates from 41 Lands to Attend World Conference of Jewish Youth

More than 400 delegates from 41 countries, representing Jewish youth organizations with an aggregate membership of over 616,000, will participate here in the second World Conference of Jewish Youth, to open on August 4, according to an announcement today by Eliyahu Dobkin, head of the Jewish Agency’s Youth and Hechalutz department.

A total of 204 Jewish youth organizations will be represented, he said, including organized Jewish youth from Yugoslavia and Jewish refugee groups representing Arab countries. The conference will include delegations from non-Zionist as well as Zionist organizations, religious and non-religious, sports clubs, B’nai B’rith youth, and Chalutzic organizations.

Scheduled to address the conference are Israel’s President Zalman Shazar; former Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion; Dr. Nahum Goldmann; Dr. Abram Sachar, president of Brandeis University; Dr. Emanuel Rackman, vice-president of Yeshiva University; and Moshe Sharett, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive.
