Dennis Ross, who served as President Clinton’s Middle East envoy, was met with applause and boos when he spoke at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual policy conference. Reflecting on his role as the leading U.S. facilitator of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, Ross said Sunday his biggest regret was that “we allowed one environment to exist at the negotiating table and another environment to exist on the street.”
